for new TV shows!

Heading in to the confessional again this Monday for My Home Truths I must confess prompt:

After a month’s worth of wall to wall cricket and tennis, have you had enough, are you keen for more or are you completely and utterly indifferent?

To be honest I am a big lover of the Summer of Sport that overtakes our television over the Christmas break. I love tennis and fulfilled one of my bucket list dreams a few years ago by attending Wimbeldon! I am ok with the overload of Sport on TV over the Summer holidays as it means that I don't have to worry about missing my favourite shows.

It's probably no real confession to those who know me that I watch a lot of TV. Asking me what my favourite TV show is a lot like asking a parent to chose their favourite child (I imagine)... Impossible!!! We confessed about our TV watching some time ago.

Now with a New Year comes new TV shows to fall in love with and enjoy so here's what I am looking forward to this year....

Yep, more sport! I LOVE the Olympics...Summer or Winter I don't mind! Can't wait to see how our Aussies do!

There is so many wonderful Australian drama series on our telly's at the moment and I think we have so much talent in our country.. here's 2 I am looking forward to watching

What's the bet these 2 are on on the same night at the same time!

..then there are some 'oldies' returning for a second season that I am pretty excited about...

With so many great Aussie shows to choose from what are you looking forward to watching this year? Are you a drama addict (like me) or a Reality TV tragic? Head over to My Home Truths to link up your confessions!

  1. I must confess I don't watch tv. There has to be something seriously wrong if you find me watching tv. Either that or it would be research for something else I'm doing but as a rule, even when a client wanted a Mad Men photo shoot I didn't race out and watch Mad Men, I googled Mad Men images. Now if only I could give up the internet, imagine how much time it would save.

Funnily enough and thanks to iinet, I was without internet this week and while it didn't open up my schedule it also created a lot of extra work. Like needing to actually go to the bank, instead of internet banking and the list goes on. Needless to say, I've had a pretty frustrating week.

  2. I love the Olympics - you can get so into it. With my third, Bejing was on, and I stayed up all night feeding in hospital and then was very disappointed when visitors hadn't watched any of the events I'd seen, and didn't want to talk Olympics...? Crazy!!

  3. Blech I hate sport in all shapes and forms. I'm looking forward to the shows you mentioned - INXS, Love Child, Puberty Blues - and am already engrossed in MKR!

  4. I'm looking forward to the INXS one and Love Child, too. I wish they would stop advertising them and just hurry up and put them on, already! But please NOT on the same night!

  5. I rarely get to sit and watch an entire show.. so much else to do, and I am often working night shift. Usually when there is a gap in my schedule and I could watch something someone else has tight control of the the remote! I'm more of a reader, I love my Kindle. And no, there's no sport themed books on it :-)

  7. I forgot the Olympics are coming - I love watching those sports that are so foreign to non-snow covered Australians!

  9. I am sooooo not a televised sport fan, and I am sooooo looking forward to all of those shows starting/restarting other than Wonderland which I never really got into.

  10. I am really looking forward to Offspring returning. I watched Wonderland, and I will watch it when it comes back. but it's not at the top of my list unfortunately. The show I am really, really hanging for, and only have one more week to wait is The Walking Dead. I am keen for Game of Thrones season 4 too but I don't know what I will get to see it as I am not about to pay even more for my foxtel to get access to Showcase to watch it.

  11. I'm not much of a sport watcher, or TV watcher for that matter, but you're right about how great Australian TV is. A fave here is Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries - hoping there will be another series this year.

I’m definitely looking forward to INXS and Love Child. As for the Olympics, I might check them out from time to time but not what you'd call seriously.

    G. xx
