After leaving Louisiana we cruised through the states of Texas and New Mexico continuing our journey towards the West Coast.
Texas was everything I imagined it to be and more, and the saying 'everything's bigger in Texas' really is true! New Mexico was really like stepping into a whole new world with the landscape, architecture and vibe being unlike anything we had experienced so far in the States. After cruising through Texas and New Mexico we are now currently in Colorado and have spent the last few days in Durango.
Durango is a cute little country town that runs along the Animas River and surrounded by the San Juan Mountains. To me it seems like the perfect place to visit in both Winter and Summer months as it has many outdoor activities on offer. It also has about 5 ski resorts nearby. We spent the afternoon at Purgatory Resort enjoying some of the Summer Activities on offer, including Alpine Slide, Chair Lift (the views alone were worth the trip up the mountain), High Ropes Course, Zip line and more.
The scenery has changed dramatically over the past few days and I have found myself staring out the window of the bus a lot more admiring the beauty and wonder of the surrounds. This country, like most, really does have it all.
We are on the final stretch of our 28 day tour now but I have a feeling the best is yet to come! Stay tuned for what will no doubt be some awesome pics!
