It's Time Travel Blog

We left Florida and headed to Louisiana with New Orleans being our first stop. I struggle a little to find the words to describe New Orleans. It has a soul and a spirit (and a smell) that really can't be explained and must be experienced to be believed.

After spending two nights in New Orleans we stopped off along the way for a Swamp Tour at Jean LaFitte National Park and Preserve.

Louisiana, known as the Pelican State or the Bayou State is the 25th largest state in the US. The French were the first to settle in the area and there are still many French influences in the area today, notably the French Quarter in New Orleans. Louisiana is also the only state in the US not to have counties, instead they have Parishes.

We have another night in Louisiana before heading off to, what I think is going to be one of my favourite states.... TEXAS!

Be sure to follow along on Instagram and check back next Wednesday to see where I am!
