So I am confessing that when it comes to theme park rides I am a big 'ol scardy cat!!!!
Over the weekend my sister and I took advantage of a Shopper-a-Docket deal where you got 2 for the price of 1 tickets to Dreamworld on the Gold Coast (seriously....I would never pay full price! Way too expensive I reckon!)
We looked on in horror as brave little souls lined up to ride The Tower of Terror and other such heart-dropping in your chest rides! NO THANK YOU! I can not think of anything worse than being flung into the air, hung upside down, shot up into space (ok maybe not space but you get the idea!), pushed/pulled/jerked at the speed of light (ok again another slight over-exaggeration) all in the name of "fun".
A train ride is a little more my speed! |
Luckily for us there is a lot more to do at Dreamworld than
These big cats are amazing! As are their keepers! |
So fess up....are you a theme park ride lover or avoider??
If you've got something you've always wanted to confess...now's your chance!
Head over to the all new looking My Home Truths and get it off your chest!
I also link up each Monday with One Mother Hen! Head over to her blog for what looks like an amazing cheesecake recipe!
I love the rides at Dreamworld but NOT the giant drop. In my opinion it's 100 times worse than the tower of terror with the G forces pulling you downwards when you're buckled in!
ReplyDeleteAm glad I didn't brave either of them then Eva!!
DeleteI use to love rides and I'm not entirely sure when they stopped being fun. Possibly since having kids (3 under 3) and the back issues that came with that. I did hop on a roller coaster with my eldest (15) last year and I almost needed to be surgically removed from the damn thing. I think I'm just getting old.
ReplyDeleteI have not been to a theme park in years, I don't think I could go on any of the scary rides!!
ReplyDeleteI'm an adrenalin junky and love ALL those rides at DW, my favourite is the Tower of Terror, such a buzz! You were just 10 minutes from my front door when you were there! Em
ReplyDeleteI'm not a ride junkie - I'm a total wuss! Having said that I really want to take the kids to the theme parks one day but I'm using Delilah's tender age (3) as an excuse not to go for a few years yet!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are talking about coming to the Gold Coast later this year. Gee I could do with one of those shopper dockets! I'll be avoiding the thrill seeker rides I reckon ;)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely another avoider here. As you say, luckily there are more things to do and see there. There is NO WAY I would go any of those rides.
ReplyDeleteWe LOVE Dreamworld, but yep, total sook here too so no rollercoasters for me!
ReplyDeleteI'm a theme park lover and I adore getting to one as often as I can. There were no theme parks around where I grew up, so I have to have my fix as much as I can now:) Have been to Wet'n'Wild Sydney + Jamberoo this summer, and looking forward to more fun soon.
ReplyDeleteI did the Gold Coast theme parks the year before last and had such a good time. Some rides really scare me, but I always feel better for having done them. There's nothing wrong with being a scaredy-cat either, but I love the rush after a good roller coaster x
I love a good theme park, we were recently up in QLD over the school holidays and I tackled Superman for the first time......that was scary but fun!!! What a rush!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I prefer my feet firmly on the ground! haha
